Kavak Capital - Fintech Solution

Kavak, a top South American platform for certified used cars, provides in-house financing to help customers buy vehicles without third-party banks. However, the application process had issues like unclear loan terms and a complex approval workflow, affecting conversion rates and customer trust.

TASK

As Head of the design team my goal was to help the team find a way to:

  • Simplify the financing application process to reduce friction and abandonment rates.
  • Increase transparency by providing clear, upfront information about loan terms, interest rates, and monthly payments.
  • Enhance the user journey by making financing approval faster and more intuitive.

Virtual Calculator

ACTIONUser Research & Pain Point Analysis:

  • Conducted user interviews and journey mapping to identify where applicants faced confusion.
  • Analyzed data from existing flows to determine the most common drop-off points.

UX & UI Redesign:

  • Streamlined the financing calculator, allowing users to instantly adjust loan terms and see real-time monthly payment estimates.
  • Improved the pre-approval process, reducing unnecessary form fields and making next steps clearer.
  • Designed a progress tracker so users always knew where they were in the approval process.

Prototyping & Testing:

  • Developed interactive prototypes and tested them with real users to refine the experience.
  • Iterated on design based on feedback, particularly focusing on reducing confusion in credit terms.

Handoff & Implementation:

  • Worked closely with developers and the financing team to ensure accurate data integration.
  • Conducted design QA to verify a seamless, error-free experience across desktop and mobile.
